Tell us what you do!
I am Founder and CEO of TMG Accessories Inc. — a lifestyle & accessories brand for bold, fearless girls who are always the center of attention. Soon-to-be accessories & clothes!
Did you go to college? If so, where?
I went to Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, Hofstra on Long Island, and Laboratory Institute of Merchandising in NYC. I could not decide what I wanted to do!
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you “grew up”?
In all honesty, I wanted to be a singer! I loved the stage and performing. As I got older, it changed a little. I still liked singing, but I loved entertaining people. Still do! Then as time went on, I realized I definitely wanted to do something in fashion.
How did you get to where you are now? Tell us your story!
Believe it or not, I got the idea for TMG from a dream one night. I dreamt that I went to a store, and got all these silk flowers, and made flower headbands. The next day, I woke up and thought to myself, “Wow, that’s a great idea!” That day, TMG was born!
Any obstacles along the way?
So many obstacles! At first, I was doing this for fun, and then all of a sudden, it blew up. I was way in over my head, and didn’t know how to fill all the orders that were coming in. Thankfully, my parents — small business owners — were there to teach me everything I know.
Who is your idol?
Nicole Richie. I love her style, and I love her awesome, badass attitude. I love how she did a complete 360, and turned into a fashion/style icon!
What are three personal traits/qualities that helped you get to where you are?
Ballsy, tough, and extremely hardworking.
Where would you like to be in five years?
I would like a full clothing line to be added to TMG by then. Already working on it! I would also like to have TMG products featured in boutiques in every major city in the country, and have a presence at every major music festival in the country.
Define “Girl Boss” in your own words.
Or — as I like to call it #BossLady – is a fearless girl who knows what she wants, is not afraid to go for it, and not intimidated by anything or anyone.
Describe your style/fashion sense:
I like to call it badass hippie chic.
Fav clothing item/accessory right now?
Combat boots. I like to pair them with a girly dress or skirt. Love the contrast.
What’s your can’t-live-without beauty product?
Eyebrow pencil. It is my life.
Go-to nail color?
Midnight Cami by Essie!
Sophia Amoruso’s #GIRLBOSS inspired me. What book has inspired you?
A book my brother gave me, Contagious. It’s all about advertising, and why things catch on the way they do. I am a social media lover, and it was great to read how all that stuff works.
No Girl Boss is perfect. What’s your vice?
My vice would probably be working too much. Sometimes, I don’t know when to close the computer and stop working.
Which artist/band/DJ are you really into right now?
I went to see Kygo for the first time, and I loved it!
What song makes you feel like a Girl Boss?
Anything Beyonce makes me feel amazing!
What’s a quote that inspires/motivates you?
“Work like there is someone working 24 hours a day to take it away from you.” – Mark Cuban
Best advice you’ve ever received? And who gave it to you?
My dad is always giving me the best advice. The main two things that stand out are, “Never stop thinking about your business,” and “You are That Madonna Girl, act like it!” He is always inspiring me to work harder, think of new ideas, and what I can do to take the company to the next level.
Advice to future Girl Bosses:
Don’t be afraid of anything. The worst that could happen is that someone says No — and then don’t take No for an answer.
